Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking to take the next step in your career within a mission-critical data centre environment?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a professional engineering team responsible for maintaining and operating critical electrical infrastructure within a high-profile data centre in Docklands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer with strong commercial or critical-environment experience, particularly someone with HVAP experience, to work within a technically advanced facility.

As an Electrical Day Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety and performance of the site’s critical electrical infrastructure.

You will work closely with the engineering and facilities teams to ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is completed to a high standard.

  • £55,000 basic salary
  • £5,000 HVAP allowance

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting across electrical systems and critical infrastructure.
  • Maintaining and testing HV and LV electrical systems and power distribution equipment.
  • Working with UPS systems, generators, switchgear and associated critical power infrastructure.
  • Carrying out electrical inspections, testing and routine maintenance.
  • Supporting the operation and maintenance of BMS and building services systems.
  • Responding to electrical faults and assisting with emergency situations.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with site procedures, RAMS and health & safety requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, logbooks and compliance documentation.
  • Working closely with the wider engineering and facilities teams to ensure maximum site resilience.
  • Supporting contractor management and specialist engineering works when required.
  • Identifying potential issues before they impact critical operations and escalating faults appropriately.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2360 / 2330 / 2391 or recognised equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

HVAP – must be in date or recently lapsed.

  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial, critical or data centre environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, power distribution, UPS and generators.
  • Experience with critical electrical infrastructure and electrical fault finding.
  • Good understanding of building services and health & safety procedures.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
  • Proactive, professional and flexible approach to maintenance.
