As a Solution Architect, you will play a crucial role in architecting and supporting the implementation of effective and efficient solutions that meet the business needs of our customers and align with our business and technology strategies. You are also responsible for guiding, mentoring, and supporting Technical Leads across the CIO department, giving them the guard rails to design and deliver solutions with autonomy; providing insights and assistance where needed. You are responsible for translating functional and non‑functional requirements into solution architectures ensuring that your solutions are aligned with PRS’ business and technology strategies, and Architectural principles and standards. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including enterprise architects, business analysts & product owners, project managers, developers, engineers, and system administrators, to deliver successful outcomes.
The EA team is responsible for delivering technology strategies and roadmaps, landscapes, solution architectures, and technical designs for all key systems. The mission of the Team is to empower PRS for Music with a forward‑thinking, business‑aligned enterprise architecture that drives innovation, ensures strategic coherence, and delivers scalable, sustainable value through technology. We connect vision to execution—shaping a resilient, data‑driven, and adaptive digital future for our members and partners. The Solution Architect plays a crucial role in this mission. All PRS for Music’s systems fall under the responsibility of the EA Team, this is across many technologies including Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce and MuleSoft, both Cloud based and on premise. We regularly work with third parties to complement the skills of the core team always with a focus on enabling PRS to deliver the best service to its customers.
As a Solution Architect, some of your day‑to‑day duties will include:
- Architect end‑to‑end technology solutions that deliver business requirements in the most efficient way, and align with business goals, architectural principles, standards, patterns, and roadmaps.
- Ensure that solutions are strategically aligned, efficient, fit for purpose and fit for use.
- Leading, guiding, mentoring, and supporting Technical Leads across the CIO department, giving them the guard rails to design and deliver solutions with autonomy.
- Create solution architectures, to the optimal level of detail, to show how the solution meets requirements and provides the guardrails for how it will be engineered.
- Supporting the Technical Leads to create technical specifications, including physical system architecture, interface design, data flows, and integration points.
- Create, manage, and evangelise architectural artefacts such as our mission, standards, principles, templates, and patterns.
About you
- Strong influencing, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams, at all levels of the organisation from executives to delivery personnel.
- Experience of successfully architecting and supporting the delivery of complex IT solutions and an understanding of the engineering of high‑volume transactional data processing systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to balance technical and business considerations.
- Experience of Architectural ways of working (e.g. abstraction (conceptual, logical and physical), architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), partitioning, patterns, principles, architecture tools, stakeholder mapping etc), and strategic alignment.
- Experience of implementing and working within effective architecture governance frameworks, and a strong understanding of various technologies, including but not limited to Oracle & Microsoft technologies, cloud computing, databases, APIs, and web services.
