The Role

To support the delivery of key business priorities across the Policy, Public Affairs and Communications functions. This role will play a central part in monitoring political developments, contributing to external communications, producing insightful research and briefings, and supporting media and stakeholder engagement efforts that protect and promote the interests of PRS for Music and its members.

Responsibilities

As our Policy and Communications Executive, some of your day to day duties will include…

  • Draft high-quality briefing materials, correspondence, consultation responses, media quotes, and press statements for internal and external audiences.
  • Monitor and analyse relevant political, legislative, and industry developments in the UK, EU and beyond.
  • Support policy research and analysis, summarising documents and identifying trends or strategic opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain tools such as the policy tracker and the stakeholder register.
  • Support public affairs campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and political event coordination.
  • Contribute to internal and external communications, including social media, website updates, and newsletters.
  • Assist with daily media monitoring, press engagement, and responding to journalist enquiries.
  • Support with reporting on campaign impact, press coverage and communications outcomes.

The Process

Our interview process for this role is simple:

  • First stage interview will take place virtually on MS Teams, followed by a written task.

  • Second stage interview will take place in person at our London Bridge Hub.

We use competency-based questions within our interviews. This allows you to provide examples of situations where you have had to demonstrate the required skills relevant to the role you are applying for. To assist your preparation for interview, research the STAR method to aid bringing your examples to life.


Location

We offer a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work from home up to three days a week.

To ensure the health and safety of all our employees, if you wish to work from home for more than 2.5 days per week, we will conduct a quick and easy remote-working assessment.
