The Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and overseeing financial accounting and controls, ensuring timely delivery of financial information for business decision-making. The successful candidate will support the Financial Controller with audits, statutory accounts, and regulatory compliance.
The Accounting Team in PRS for Music sits within the wider Finance team operating in the core finance function. As the Finance Manager, you will head up a team of 5 to offer leadership and guidance as well as overseeing the expected deliverables that the team has to deliver. You will work collaboratively with business units and finance business partners to ensure financial processes are applied and maintained correctly.
Responsibilities
As our Finance Manager, some of your day-to-day duties will include:
- Responsibility for delivering adequate management accounts and reporting, to agreed KPIs, to aid the business in decision making.
- Responsibility for the maintenance of all general ledgers.
- To oversee the production of regulatory tax returns in order to fulfil the companies’ statutory requirements and to ensure payments/rebates are actioned in a timely manner.
- To work with the Senior Finance Manager to deliver a clean audit and annual statutory accounts for the operating companies. Liaise with the auditors and the companies, resolving all queries on a timely basis to meet the Board deadlines.
- Collaborate with other finance teams to improve processes and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function in order to meet the business needs.
- To monitor and review changes in regulatory legislation for financial reporting and support the Financial Controller with the implementation and communication of changes within the finance department.
- To review and authorise, at appropriate frequencies, the reconciliations of accounts, ensuring closing balances are accurate and any outstanding items are investigated fully and resolved, liaising with other teams and departments where necessary.
About you

- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience, preferably in industry and large companies.
- A proven track record in producing accurate and timely financial information to tight deadlines in a complex environment.
- A proven track record of implementing process improvements.
- Year-end audit and financial close experience, producing complete and accurate statutory accounts to tight deadlines.
- Experience and understanding of taxation (e.g. VAT, Corporation tax, Withholding tax).
- Effective coaching, training and motivational skills, with experience of managing staff.
- Experience of UK GAAP reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with good organisational and communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work well as part of a larger team.
