Part of the global leader Bain & Company, Proxima is a well-established and leading management consulting firm specialising in procurement currently with offices in London, Leeds, Cardiff, and Chicago; with new European offices opening shortly. Hybrid working is the norm with time spent at client site, home as well as your local office. We are experiencing growth across all categories but specifically within Construction Procurement we are seeing significant expansion across Europe.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of regulations, along with exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sector specific experience in both public and private for both infrastructure/civils and construction of buildings.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
  • Understanding of key construction-related markets and key suppliers.
  • Develop and oversee sourcing strategies in construction-related categories (for examples Aggregates, Civils).
  • Engage and influence stakeholders at an operational level to gain their support and commitment.
  • Identify, monitor, and manage project risks, ensuring mitigation plans are in place.
  • Establish existing baselines and gain agreement with clients and Programme/Account Managers.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
About You:
  • Proven experience in Civil Engineering/Construction procurement for large projects.
  • Knowledge of public and private sector regulations and standards specific to the construction sector.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Team management experience including coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to identify and manage project risks effectively.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
