Provost Veterinary Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and well-established team in the beautiful seaside town of St Andrews. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet ready to take the next step in their career, combining hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities. You’ll play a key role in shaping the clinical direction of the practice, supporting your colleagues, and ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional patient and client care.

Lead, support and inspire

  • Provide clinical leadership and direction to the veterinary team
  • Support and mentor new graduates and less experienced vets, helping them develop and thrive
  • Work closely with the Practice Director to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
  • Drive high clinical standards and promote best practice across the team
  • Maintain a varied caseload, with a balance of consultations and surgery

We’re looking for someone with strong clinical ability, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for team development and collaboration.

Rota patterns that work for you

Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we know that work-life balance is key. This role offers full-time hours of 40 per week, typically across 4 or 5 days. There are no out-of-hours requirements, and the weekend commitment is limited to a 1 in 5 Saturday morning rota (8:30am-1pm), which is returned as time in lieu. We’re always open to discussing flexibility to ensure the role works for your lifestyle and commitments.

We also have separate cat, dog and isolation wards and are proud to be a Cat Friendly Clinic. You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced team of six Veterinary Surgeons, six RVNs, and seven support staff, all working collaboratively to deliver excellent patient care. We actively encourage career development and will fully support and fund further certifications, particularly if you have a specific area of interest you’re keen to pursue.
