Our client is a well regarded, technology-driven investment firm operating at the forefront of systematic trading. They are continuing to invest in their middle office platform to support scalable growth, operational efficiency, and increasingly complex fund structures.
The Middle Office Technology team sits at the heart of the business, working across client services, fund accounting, treasury, trade operations, and compliance to automate and optimise critical workflows. This role offers a unique blend of hands‑on engineering, system ownership, and close interaction with business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and enhance middle office systems supporting trade booking and lifecycle management, fund accounting workflows (including NAV calculations), investor and client reporting platforms
- Develop scalable, robust solutions using Java and SQL across a distributed, client-server architecture
- Work closely with business teams (operations, finance, client services) to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Contribute to reengineering and modernisation of legacy systems, improving performance, scalability, and resilience
- Take ownership of production systems
- Write clean, well‑tested, maintainable code and contribute to CI/CD and release processes
- Participate in architectural discussions, design reviews, and technical planning
- Support continuous improvement of tooling, processes, and system performance
- Strong Java development experience
- Solid SQL/database knowledge (e.g. SQL Server, Snowflake or similar)
- Good understanding of client‑server and distributed system architectures
- Proven ability to deliver impact beyond BAU (e.g. system improvements, reengineering, automation)
- Comfortable working across both development and production environments
- Experience within middle office domains (trade processing, fund accounting, investor reporting)
- Background in asset management, hedge funds, or investment banking
- Exposure to front‑end technologies (e.g. TypeScript, or web‑based UIs)
- Familiarity with reporting tools
