Location: St Helens

Hours: Part-time initially with flexible working hours, with the opportunity to progress to full-time (37.5 hours per week). Shifts: Monday - Friday

We are currently looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team based in St Helens. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing end-to-end monthly payroll using Sage Payroll and Time Standard
  • Maintaining daily hours reports and preparing weekly timesheets
  • Preparing weekly and monthly payroll reports
  • Processing new starters, leavers, holidays and pension submissions
  • Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and confidential employee information
  • Ensuring payroll processes comply with HMRC regulations and current payroll legislation
  • Supporting the HR Manager with general HR administration when required
  • Filing and maintaining payroll documentation in line with audit requirements
  • Completing additional administrative duties as required

About You

  • Previous experience in a payroll administration role
  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • A good understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, confidential approach
