The Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education is accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year for the Casual Administrative Assistant list. This is for day-to-day work only.

A school based casual Administrative Assistant shall provide the required administrative support to the school in all aspects of its day-to-day operations. A school based Administrative Assistant works in a team-based environment and displays a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy in dealing with the general public, students, staff, volunteers and outside agencies all while adhering to the utmost confidentiality.

Rate of Pay: £19.58/hour

Requirements to work as a Casual Administrative Assistant:

  • Completion of Grade 12 and a recognized Office Administrative Assistant program or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Minimum (2) years office administrative experience.
  • Proficiency in word processing, database, spreadsheet, accounting and e-mail applications.
  • High level of technological skills required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to combine speed and accuracy while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while prioritising own workload.
  • Ability to handle multi-tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to set up and maintain filing system.
  • Ability to compose memos and letters.
  • Ability to maintain record keeping books and files.
  • Ability to maintain various financial records.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants with database experience.
  • Experience working with Youth would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of SchoolCash, Microsoft Office, SAP, Aesop and PowerSchool would be an asset.
  • Diplomacy and discretion in dealing with personnel and the general public.
  • Working as a team player/positive attitude.
  • Adhering to confidentiality.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
