The predicted salary is between 36610 - 36610 £ per year.
You will develop PRHA residents' English language and literacy skills supporting them through individually-tailored 121 sessions /group sessions so as to improve their skills and confidence in written and/or spoken English. The role will involve you using your abilities to:
- Promote the service to hostel and supported housing residents
- Assess needs and put together a bespoke, personalised training programme
- Support residents through that programme
- Collect data and other relevant information that demonstrates the impact of the programme
- Ensure buy-in from hostel staff and managers so they can support you in your work
- Liaise with external literacy and educational establishments as necessary to help further development in improvement of English literacy/language
We are looking for the candidate that meets the personal specification of this role, and especially you:
- Will be a qualified English Language Tutor
- Can demonstrate strong ability of tutoring homeless people who experience difficulties with English language and literacy, including those for whom English is a second language
- Can demonstrate ability to run English language and literacy sessions 121 /group sessions with rough sleepers/those who live in supported housing

PRHA is a specialist Housing Association and adult social care provider focused on East London, mainly Tower Hamlets and the City, Hackney and Southwark. We help people who are homeless (or at risk of becoming homeless) to help themselves through a wide range of residential and non-residential services. As well as having suffered the crisis of homelessness, many of our residents have support needs relating to substance misuse, poor mental and physical health. Our services include permanent and temporary housing, support to live independently, resettlement preparation and support, access to employment, training & education and money management advice.
