About the Role
Provide Education are currently recruiting for one of our partnership village primary schools in Halifax who are seeking a caring, proactive, and reliable Teaching Assistant to support their Year 6 class from as soon as possible until the end of the summer term. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils as they prepare for their SATs, helping to build confidence, reinforce learning, and ensure all children feel supported during this important stage of their primary education. This role will involve providing targeted academic support to individuals and small groups, assisting with SATs preparation activities, and helping to maintain a positive and focused learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Year 6 teacher with classroom activities and SATs preparation
- Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning in English and Maths
- Provide encouragement and guidance to pupils to help build confidence and independence
- Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs to help them engage positively with learning
- Help maintain a calm, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with general classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 2
- Be patient, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Have an understanding of how to support children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Be flexible, proactive, and able to work well as part of a team
- Be committed to supporting pupils to achieve their best.
