About the role

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Kirklees area who are seeking an experienced SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from February until the end of the summer term. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HLTA with strong SEND experience who is looking to make a real impact supporting pupils in a mainstream environment.

The role will include:

  • Providing targeted classroom and intervention support for pupils with a range of SEND needs
  • Delivering planned lessons and supervising whole class learning where required
  • Working closely with teaching staff, the SENDCo, and external professionals
  • Supporting the development and review of individual learning plans
  • Encouraging independence, communication and emotional well-being

The ideal candidate will have:

  • HLTA status or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience supporting SEND pupils within a primary school setting
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patience, resilience, and a confident approach in the classroom
  • A passion for inclusive education and ensuring every child can succeed
