Fantastic opportunity to work with an amazing independent school in Calderdale and become a part of a great team who support children with complex and challenging needs. The school provides high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education for pupils between 6 β 17 years. They have a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism (ASC), ADHD and communication difficulties.

Your role will include:
- Support teaching and learning under the direction of the class teacher
- Work with children 1:1 or delivering sessions with small groups of students
- Supporting on educational trips and visits
- Have a good basic understanding of English and Maths
- Keep children safe when they are experiencing heightened behaviours with strong behaviour management skills and excellent communication
- Create, play, and teach games to develop social skills or further learning
The ideal candidate will be:
- Have an understanding of needs including SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and other complex needs
- Be patient, resilient and empathetic to studentsβ individual needs
- Experience of working with children and young adults as either a Youth Worker, a Sports Coach or within an education setting would be advantageous
- An up-to-date DBS that is on the DBS Update Service (or be willing to undertake a new one)
- Proof of Safeguarding at a minimum of Level 1 (or be willing to undergo online training)
