We are currently recruiting for a caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the S66 area of Rotherham. This role will be based within the school’s Integrated Resource Unit, supporting a small group of children with SEND across mixed primary age groups.
The successful candidate will work closely alongside experienced staff members to provide tailored support, helping pupils access learning and develop both socially and emotionally within a supportive environment.
The Role
- Supporting children with a range of special educational needs within the Integrated Resource Unit
- Working with pupils across mixed primary age groups
- Assisting with learning activities, emotional regulation, and social development
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to meet individual pupil needs
- Creating a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with SEND is desirable
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
