We are seeking an organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join a welcoming school in Doncaster on a 9-month maternity cover contract starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school administrator or attendance professional who is passionate about supporting student engagement and ensuring high standards of attendance across the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage daily student attendance and punctuality records.
- Follow up on absences and lateness with parents/carers via phone, email, and written communication.
- Maintain accurate attendance data using school management systems.
- Produce attendance reports and support senior leaders with tracking and intervention strategies.
- Work closely with safeguarding and pastoral teams to support student wellbeing and attendance improvement.
- Ensure attendance procedures comply with school policies and statutory guidance.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working in a school administration or attendance role.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience using school MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom (desirable).
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
