Job Overview
The HIV service in Suffolk is delivered at our Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds clinics.
The post holder will work autonomously within a small team, providing holistic and high‑quality care to service users and encouraging self‑management of HIV as a chronic disease.
The role involves managing a caseload of clinically stable patients and triaging and managing those with therapy issues, minor illness, co‑infections and co‑morbidities, with support from medical colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Use highly specialised knowledge and skills to manage a caseload of patients with complex needs, providing regular follow‑up care.
- Ensure an optimum level of care and support is available for all patients and carers.
- Coordinate effective communication across the multidisciplinary team, between departments and the community.
- Provide specialist education and development for nursing staff and colleagues through programmes and clinical supervision.
- Undertake relevant specialist research and lead clinical audit within the consultant team.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Criteria
- At least 4 years post‑qualification experience.
- Experience contributing to audits.
Desirable Criteria
- Minimum 2 years experience within an HIV or Sexual Health setting.
- Experience leading on audits.
- Professional Registration
UK professional clinical registration is required for the role. Provide will pay for registration during the first year of employment.
