The Essex Wellbeing Service, part of Provide Community and funded by Essex County Council, supports residents to reduce loneliness, live independently, stop smoking, improve their lifestyle, and take part in the NHS Health Check Programme.

The role will lead on promoting Making Every Contact Count (MECC) across all partner organisations. This includes helping staff understand MECC, encouraging them to use everyday conversations to support health and wellbeing, and acting as the main point of contact for any questions, support, or training.

You will work with the EWS Single Point of Access Manager on our Care Navigation Partnership to strengthen MECC opportunities by bringing partners together.

You will work in a busy environment with many partners, so strong communication skills, relationship-building, and the ability to manage varied priorities are essential. You must also know the Essex area well, have a driving license, and travel around the county regularly.

  • Lead on the direction and development of the 3-year MECC training plan.
  • Lead the development and delivery of MECC in Essex.
  • Find practical ways to embed MECC into services.
  • Co-produce MECC training and resources tailored to organisations' needs.
  • Deliver MECC training across the county, both internally and externally.
  • Organise and coordinate internal and external meetings with a range of stakeholders.
  • Produce clear reports, documents, and presentations.
  • Build positive relationships with partners.
  • Respond to enquiries via phone, email, virtually, or in person.
  • Evaluate outcomes and translate these into recommendations to improve delivery and participant understanding of MECC.
  • Keep accurate records in line with information governance rules.
  • Act as the main contact for MECC support and training.
