Occupational Therapist – Paediatric (Band 7) – Contract: Permanent, Full time – 30 hours per week (4 days). Location: Kestrel House / HQ Town, Chelmsford / Colchester.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments, formulate and implement treatment plans for paediatric clients.
  • Work with children, families, schools and other appropriate settings to deliver therapy services.
  • Contribute to the planning, development and continuous improvement of the occupational therapy service.
  • Participate in setting standards of care, monitoring quality of service and managing referral/waiting times.
  • Provide clinical leadership and, when required, manage a work area.
  • Obtain necessary consent and comply with professional and organisational standards.
  • Travel to multiple sites, maintain a full clean driving licence and appropriate car insurance.

Qualifications

  • Occupational Therapy degree or diploma.
  • HPC registration.
  • Relevant post‑graduation training.
  • Desirable: sensory integration qualification.

Experience

  • 2–3 years post‑graduate experience with paediatrics.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in information technology (IT).
  • Experience with neurological conditions.

Additional Requirements

  • Own a car and possess a full clean driving licence.
  • Ability to travel to and work at different sites.
