We are looking for clinical support workers for the Essex Sexual Health Service. The post involves front‑house duties (meeting & greeting clients, client registration), support tasks (stock organisation, clinic set‑up & close‑down), and back‑of‑house clinical support (assisting with procedures, acting as chaperone). It also includes delivering health promotion/information sessions. The role requires use of electronic record systems, specimen handling, and equipment cleaning, with strict adherence to Health and Safety and infection prevention policies. Rota coverage of Saturday sessions is part of the contracted role.
Key Responsibilities- Front‑house duties: meeting and greeting clients, client registration.
- Support tasks: stock organisation, clinic set‑up, and close‑down.
- Back‑of‑house clinical support: assist with procedures and act as chaperone.
- Deliver health promotion and information sessions.
- Use electronic record system for patient notes.
- Prepare and clean specimens and equipment, checking clinical areas per Health and Safety standards.
- Participate in the rota covering Saturday sessions.
- Receive training and development from first line manager and allocated clinical supervisor.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a sexual health or healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Sexual health certificate.
- Health promotion experience or awareness.
- Phlebotomy and/or microscopy skills.
- Eligible for NHS Pension.
- Supportive first line manager and clinical supervisor for training.
