Provectus Recruitment are currently partnered with a well-funded start-up organisation in Cambridge, that are focusing on developing innovative technologies that solve world fuel and energy challenges. In-line with the roadmap, we are now able to be seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. This role will offer you autonomy, the opportunity to influence key decisions and tech development, as well as an opportunity to be involved in "first of its kind" tech.
Key Duties
- 3D Design & Modelling (SolidWorks) assembles, sub-assemblies
- Generation of drawings, dimensions, tolerances, specifications
- Design development, conceptual design via creative yet practical engineering
- Prototyping and testing
- BOM management, Design documentation management
- Work with process, project, fabrication engineers ensuring product feasibility
- Continuous Improvement, focus on areas for design improvement, cost reduction etc
The Ideal Candidate
- Extensive Mechanical Design experience, ideally detail orientated who possesses excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Several years in Mechanical Design Engineering, using Solidworks
- Relevant technical academic background, higher education, degree etc
- Full proficiency in Solidworks, 3D modelling, assembly and drafting
- Excellent understanding of mechanical design principles and processes
- FEA and/or DFM would be great however not essential
