The Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting the Financial Controller, and enhancing internal processes and controls. This is a broad role with exposure to both UK and European entities, covering reporting, reconciliations, VAT compliance, and commercial analysis. The position suits someone who is detail-oriented, highly organised, and eager to grow in a supportive, team-driven environment.

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accounting talent for this broad and hands-on role that will give exposure to international operations, VAT compliance across multiple countries, management reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and audit support.

What You Will Do
  • Prepare sales and margin reports, along with sales forecasts
  • Maintain accurate costing sheets for products
  • Compile and update the weekly purchase order log
  • Prepare weekly and quarterly cash flow statements
  • Review periodic stock reports, ensuring optimal and efficient use of inventory and warehouses
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly accounts, ensuring compliance with bank requirements and brand owners
  • Conduct variance analysis of operating expenses and implement corrective actions in collaboration with functional managers
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, and FX adjustments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
  • Assist with consolidated reporting and variance analysis
  • Reconcile accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) ledgers
  • Maintain accurate intercompany accounts and ensure monthly reconciliations of balances
  • Manage the fixed asset register and depreciation postings
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Support annual audit processes
  • Strengthen internal processes and enhance financial controls
  • Provide timely financial information and analysis to the Financial Controller
  • Support budget and forecasting activities with accurate data and reconciliations
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and financial analysis.
What We're Looking For
  • 2–3+ years' accounting experience, ideally across multi-entity or intercompany environments
  • Strong grounding in journals, reconciliations, and VAT
  • Exposure to cross-charges, intercompany reconciliations, and multi-currency accounting
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g. Sage200)
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and highly organised
  • A proactive communicator who can work across jurisdictions and build collaborative relationships
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
