About the Brand
Our client is launching an advanced Vera Wang contemporary ready-to-wear collection for women, with a men’s line to follow — bringing Vera Wang’s iconic design language into the lifestyle space across the UK and Europe.
Blending modern luxury with everyday wearability, this is a premium lifestyle brand for people who move with purpose and dress with intent. Backed by one of the world’s most respected fashion houses, the brand combines start-up energy with global backing. Design, product, and distribution foundations are in place — now we need a commercially sharp leader to take it to market.
The Role
This is a key commercial leadership role. As Commercial Manager, you will lead the wholesale sales growth across the UK and European markets, building partnerships with premium retailers and managing the full commercial cycle from sell-in to sell-through.
You will work very closely with the Group Sales Director and senior management, helping shape and execute the go-to-market strategy while driving revenue growth, profitability, and brand presence across the region.
This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You will play a pivotal part in driving Vera Wang’s expansion into the contemporary lifestyle space, making sure the brand launches with clarity and control in the right retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Sales Growth
- Build and deliver seasonal sales and margin plans by account and channel
- Develop and execute wholesale strategies for the UK and European markets
- Set and manage account-level sales targets aligned with wider business goals
Wholesale Partner Management
- Build and lead relationships with key retail partners: department stores, premium e-commerce, and select multi-brand retailers
- Lead negotiations, sell-in discussions, and joint business planning with accounts
- Shape assortments, pricing, and distribution plans by partner
- Drive and manage day-to-day wholesale operations: follow up with key accounts, monitor order books, and ensure orders and deliveries run smoothly
- Work cross-functionally to ensure the sales process from order to delivery is seamless and customer-focused
Performance Management & Reporting
- Monitor and report on sales performance: sell-in, sell-through, margin, and stock levels
- Provide the Group Sales Director and senior management with regular insights, risks, and opportunities
- Adjust commercial plans in-season in response to market and trade trends
Trade Terms & Budget Management
- Manage trade terms, markdowns, and coop marketing spend within budget
- Protect profitability through clear planning and margin control
- Identify and activate in-season commercial levers as needed
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, merchandising, planning, and marketing to ensure market needs are reflected in the product offer and seasonal execution
- Bring a strong commercial lens to product planning, market launches, and retail activations
What You Will Bring
- Strong commercial/wholesale experience in fashion or lifestyle — ideally in contemporary, premium, or luxury ready-to-wear
- Proven track record of managing UK and European wholesale accounts
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills and attention to operational detail
- Excellent sales management, financial planning, and negotiation skills
- Highly analytical, commercially sharp, and confident managing multi-million-pound budgets
- Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-growth environment
- Clear communicator and strong relationship builder with retail partners and internal teams
