The Role

As part of your role, you’ll be helping people with personal care and daily routines. This can include help with washing, dressing and using the bathroom, as well as supporting at mealtimes and throughout the day. Day and night shifts can feel different because the support needed will vary across the day, but in both you’ll be working closely with a team you get to know well. There is also some computer-based work involved, such as updating electronic care plans, so attention to detail is important. Confidence with technology can be taught, but a caring nature, patience and willingness to learn are what matter most. The residential home is made up of two households, with some people living with dementia, this means the support you provide may vary depending on the house you are working in.
