We have 2 roles available – 1 Full Time at 37 hours per week and 1 Part Time at 24 hours per week available.

About the Role As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Assess adults with a range of disabilities and health conditions, enabling them to live as independently and safely as possible.
  • Use a strengths-based approach to promote independence, providing advice, equipment, minor and major adaptations, rehousing support, and care recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with our Moving & Handling Review Specialist OT to develop skills in care review and risk management.
  • Manage your own diverse and rewarding caseload, providing a person-centred service within the framework of local government policy and legislation.
  • Be committed to equality, diversity, and achieving positive outcomes for the people of South Devon.

Working Patterns: TBC

Essential details: We are committed to your continuous professional development and preceptorship, doing all we can to help you excel in your career and with new and exciting opportunities for career development. You will receive excellent support and supervision, with regular opportunities to discuss and reflect on your practice, both with your line manager and peers. We offer 26 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays, rising incrementally to 31 days after 5 years’ service. Recognition of NHS continuous service for contractual annual leave purposes, sick pay entitlement and Maternity/Adoption & Paternity pay entitlement (within DCC Terms & Conditions).

Flexible working opportunities are available, these include part-time hours, flexitime, compressed working hours and homeworking (this is subject to the needs of the role – please discuss further at interview). Offer an opportunity to enter a generous Local Government Pension Scheme.
