Overview

Are you someone who loves helping others, enjoys driving, and wants to make a real difference every single day? Sense is looking for a reliable Female Support Worker (Driver) to join our warm and welcoming team in Exeter, working 35 hours per week for £12.50 per hour. This role is an opportunity to be part of a community that puts people first, values inclusion, and celebrates every individual’s unique voice.

For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

Responsibilities

  • Support adults who are deafblind or have complex disabilities to live full and active lives.
  • Help with daily routines and support access to the world around them, including appointments, community activities, or day-out experiences.
  • Create safe, enjoyable and meaningful experiences inside and outside of the home; be a familiar and friendly face.
  • Work closely with support staff to assist with day-to-day support and contribute to the smooth running of the service.
  • Help reduce isolation and promote independence for the people supported.

Qualifications and attributes

  • Full UK driving license (essential).
  • A calm, patient, and friendly approach.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the role; commitment to inclusion and supporting people with complex needs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • A willingness to learn BSL and use a total communication approach.
