Introduction
We are looking for 1 or 2 personal assistants to join our team to supporting a young lady, with a severe learning disability. She lives in the family home with her parents and dogs.
The number of posts available will depend on how many shifts applicants want to work. Day, sleeping night shifts and weekends are available and can be arranged to be full or part time.
The things that are important to her include socializing, swimming, eating and drinking, sensory needs, watching Shrek, spending time with her family and dogs.
Activities for the day may include swimming, attending clubs, shopping, walk to the park, drive in the car, bus ride. Sometimes she may decide to have a quiet day at home watching tele and doing sensory activities.
In the evening she has several clubs that she likes to go to plus roller disco and in the summer a walk on the Hoe.
Duties
Personal care is required with pad changes, washing, dressing, teeth cleaning.
Administration of medication morning and evening
Preparation and feeding of breakfast, lunch and tea
Keeping her equipment and environment clean and safe.
Rate
09.00 – 21.00 £13.50 per hour
21.00 – 09.00 £11.44 per hour

Female Applicants only and someone who is comfortable around dogs.
Desired Experience
The young lady can become frustrated if she is not understood, so although experience is not essential, patience and a willingness to learn is desired to get to know her as an individual.
Training will be given around behaviours and communication and there will be support from experienced staff during the settling in period.
Manual Car drivers are preferred but non drivers may be considered.
