Care Assistant – day services
As a care assistant in a day centre you’ll be supporting individuals coming to the centre during the week.
You could support adults of any age with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, dementia, or a mental health need.
You will be involved in their care and support needs.
You will be supporting with activities that promote their health and wellbeing.
Salary
Expected to earn: £10.70 to £11.00 an hour, which can increase depending on role and experience.

Relevant experience is not essential as full training is provided; having the right values is key.

You will complete an induction and have the opportunity to complete the new Level 2 Care Certificate.
There are continuing professional development qualifications such as dementia, end‑of‑life, autism care, learning disabilities, mental health and more.
You can explore apprenticeships to develop your knowledge and understanding from Level 2 Adult care worker, Level 3 Lead adult care worker, Level 4 Lead practitioner in adult care.
These apprenticeships can take 18 months to complete.
You can also pursue further apprenticeships or degrees such as the Nursing Associate or Occupational Therapist, which can take up to two or three years to complete.
