Join Proton and build a better internet where privacy is the default. Proton was founded in 2014 by scientists from CERN on a simple truth: privacy is a fundamental human right. We have built the world’s largest encrypted email service (Proton Mail) and expanded into Proton VPN, Proton Drive, Proton Pass, and Proton Calendar—tools used by millions to protect their freedom and data. We are profitable, independent (no VC control), and selectively hire from the top ~1% of applicants. Our 500+ team members across 50+ countries come from leading organizations and elite academic backgrounds. We move fast, keep hierarchy light, and prioritise impact over optics.

Impact & Team: Join the team working on the Mail & Calendar ecosystem alongside 50 Engineers. Current Projects include:

  • Developing innovative productivity tools that integrate with our privacy-centric ecosystem.
  • Advancing cryptography to keep user data secure against emerging technologies such as quantum-proof encryption.
  • Expanding Proton's reach into the B2B segment, bringing privacy and security to businesses worldwide.
  • Pushing the boundaries with projects like Scribe, the world’s first private AI in a consumer product.

Impact Opportunities:

  • Own a big part of Mail & Calendar product development: Shape the future of products used by millions.
  • Drive strategy: Independently influence Proton's flagship products and realise the vision of a private internet.
  • Be at the forefront of innovation: Work on projects that set new standards for privacy and security.

What you will do: We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the next stage in the evolution of Proton Mail and Calendar. Your responsibility will be to grow user engagement and retention by creating remarkable user experiences for our community. You are versatile in product-led growth within our freemium model. Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the senior leadership team to define a strategic vision and roadmap.
  • Drive product innovation, develop novel features that expand value proposition and increase defensibility.
  • Define and own success metrics such as active usage, engagement, retention, and revenue.
  • Facilitate collaboration between product, engineering, growth and marketing to align on vision and execution.
  • Lead the teams through execution from conception to delivery, troubleshoot across multiple teams, and maintain high development velocity.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to inform decisions.
  • Anticipate growth ceilings and define scaling strategies, including foundational technology, tools, and processes.

What we are looking for: We need you to have:

  • 6-10 years of experience in product management in B2C or B2B SaaS, preferably in online privacy and/or productivity contexts.
  • Proven track record in successful product launches in fast-paced environments.
  • Strategic leader with an analytical and data-driven mindset, with a history of delivering products on time and with commercial success.
  • Strong empathy for the customer, user-centric mindset, and high standards.
  • A strong innate sense for good UX and a love for design.
  • Experience building and managing high-performing teams.
  • A work ethic of going above and beyond to make things happen; hands-on and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to dig into technical details with engineers and make the right trade-offs.

Even if you don’t meet all the requirements, please apply if you think you could be a great fit.

What We Offer:
