Hours: Full time (37 hours each week, all year round)

Duration: Interim cover until the permanent role has been filled. Opportunity for temporary to permanent for the right candidate.

Salary: £14.24 per hour including SHP.

Location: Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

As a Caretaker and Estates Operative, you are the backbone of the campus experience. You will ensure buildings are safe, welcoming, and fully prepared for students, staff, and visitors every day. Friendly professionalism and dedication will directly shape how people feel the moment they step onto our campus, making you a vital face of the College community.

  • Support estates rota to ensure campus coverage, opening/locking buildings and maintaining security.
  • Keep buildings and grounds clean by removing waste and emptying bins.
  • Maintain health and safety standards by clearing hazards, spills, and keeping exits accessible.
  • Prepare rooms for teaching/meetings and assist with furniture moves.
  • Deliver post, parcels, and goods promptly across campus.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs, and support improvement and maintenance plans.
  • Respond to emergencies (fire evacuations, directing services, lift breakdowns).
  • Assist with First Aid when required.

Have you got what it takes?

  • You will have prior experience of working in a maintenance/security/caretaking role or similar (ideally would be within the education sector, but not essential).
  • You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.
  • Hold a DBS on the update service and be willing to complete compliance checks.
