About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) - Plumbing on behalf of our Client based in Tottenham on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of assessment and internal quality assurance processes for the 9289 Level 3 Plumbing qualification.
This role is ideal for a knowledgeable plumbing professional with strong quality assurance experience and specialist expertise in renewable heating technologies, including Solar Thermal and Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP).
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out internal quality assurance activities in line with awarding organisation requirements and internal policies.
- Monitor and support assessors to ensure consistent and accurate assessment decisions.
- Conduct sampling, standardisation, observation, and quality review activities.
- Ensure the quality of delivery and assessment meets regulatory and awarding body standards.
- Provide guidance and support to assessors and delivery staff.
- Maintain accurate IQA records and documentation.
- Participate in standardisation meetings and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Support preparation for external quality assurance visits and inspections.
- Ensure learners receive a high-quality learning and assessment experience.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- A recognised Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification.
- Significant industry experience within the plumbing sector.
- Experience of quality assuring the 9289 Level 3 Plumbing qualification.
- Relevant plumbing qualifications and occupational competence.
- Qualifications and/or proven occupational competence in Solar Thermal Systems.
- Qualifications and/or proven occupational competence in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP).
- A thorough understanding of current industry standards, regulations, and best practice.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within further education, apprenticeships, or work-based learning.
- Experience supporting assessment teams and driving quality improvement.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and modern plumbing practices.
