An FE College in Rotherham is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Sports Duty Officer to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about sport, fitness, and delivering high-quality services within a busy Further Education environment. This role is predominantly evening and weekend-based, working on a rota to support the smooth operation of the Sports Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Sports Centre
- Ensure the smooth transition and coordination of facility bookings and schedules
- Lead the secure opening and closing of the facilities
- Health & Safety
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across all areas
- Carry out routine checks, risk assessments, and equipment inspections
- Ensure a safe environment for students, staff, and community users
- Staff Leadership
- Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to the operational team
- Motivate staff to deliver an excellent customer experience
- Support the delivery of sports activities and events
- Customer Service
- Deliver a welcoming and professional service to all users of the facilities
- Respond effectively to incidents and provide first aid when required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused
- Experienced in a sports, leisure, or fitness environment
- A confident communicator with strong organisational skills
- Able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
Essential Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in a sport or leisure-related subject
- Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification
- Full First Aid at Work certificate (or willingness to achieve whilst in post)
