Are you an experienced Plumber or Plumbing Tutor looking for a rewarding new challenge?
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Plumbing Tutor to join the education team at HMP Wayland, helping learners develop valuable trade skills, gain recognised qualifications, and build pathways into employment.
This is an opportunity to use your industry experience to make a genuine difference, supporting learners to develop practical skills, confidence, and the knowledge needed to succeed both within the construction industry and beyond.
The Role
As a Plumbing Tutor, you will:
- Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based plumbing lessons.
- Teach learners working towards vocational qualifications.
- Develop learners' plumbing knowledge, practical skills, and industry awareness.
- Deliver training in areas such as:
- Pipework installation
- Hot and cold water systems
- Drainage systems
- Health & Safety
- Plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Hand tools and equipment
- Industry best practice
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare learners for qualifications and future employment opportunities.
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment.
- Support learners in achieving their individual goals and aspirations.
What We're Looking For
We would love to hear from candidates with:
- Occupational experience within Plumbing.
- A Level 2 Plumbing qualification as a minimum.
- Industry experience as a Plumber, Plumbing Supervisor, Plumbing Assessor, or Plumbing Trainer.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for developing and supporting learners.
