About the Role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years Lecturer to join a successful Further Education College on a temporary basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Level 2 Early Years and Childcare qualifications, supporting learners to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for progression within the Early Years sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a meaningful impact on learner outcomes within a supportive FE environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching across Level 2 Early Years programmes.
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements.
- Monitor learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Support learners in developing both theoretical knowledge and practical Early Years skills.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and learner progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Prepare learners for progression into employment or further study.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
- A relevant qualification in Early Years, Childcare, Education, or a related subject.
- Experience delivering Level 2 Early Years and Childcare qualifications within a Further Education or training setting.
- Strong knowledge of Early Years frameworks and best practice.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one prior to commencement.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience delivering CACHE, NCFE, BTEC, or similar vocational qualifications.
- Previous experience working within a Further Education College.
- Industry experience within an Early Years setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and learner welfare requirements.
