We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated GCSE & Functional Skills English Lecturer to join a thriving Further Education provider in East London on a full-time temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to support learners in achieving their English qualifications and progressing towards their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality GCSE and Functional Skills English lessons.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning activities that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and success.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
- Support students with examination preparation and revision strategies.
- Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives and curriculum development where required.
Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
- Degree or relevant qualification in English or a related subject.
- Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills English within a Further Education, Adult Learning or Secondary Education setting.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
- Experience working with learners from diverse educational backgrounds.
- Knowledge of current GCSE and Functional Skills English curricula.
- Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs.
