We are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated Carpentry Tutor to join a leading education provider within a custodial setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in developing practical carpentry skills, industry knowledge, and employability behaviours, helping them progress towards sustainable employment and positive long‑term outcomes.

Working with small groups, you will deliver engaging, structured training while providing guidance and support tailored to individual learner needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Carpentry training sessions to small learner groups
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons supporting varied learning styles
  • Develop and maintain individual learning plans
  • Track and monitor learner progress and achievement
  • Provide advice, guidance, and mentoring to support progression
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
Essential Criteria
  • Level 3 qualification in Carpentry / Joinery (or equivalent)
  • Teaching qualification (minimum Level 3) OR actively working towards one
  • Strong hands‑on industry experience in carpentry
  • Experience delivering training, coaching, or mentoring
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
Desirable
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA / CAVA)
  • Experience within FE, apprenticeships or adult learning
  • Experience working with challenging or disengaged learners
