The Protocol Group are working with a client seeking an inspiring and forward-thinking Assistant Head of Department to support the leadership of our Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades provision across both Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator and emerging leader to play a key role in shaping the future of construction education, developing staff, and driving exceptional student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Department in managing curriculum delivery, staffing, and resources
- Lead on maintaining high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment
- Monitor and track performance to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Coach, mentor, and inspire staff to continuously improve their practice
- Motivate students to achieve their full potential
- Foster a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and industry standards
Requirements:
- Extensive teaching experience within the Further Education (FE) sector
- Strong knowledge of construction trades, particularly in multi-skills or brickwork
- A clear understanding of FE frameworks, quality assurance, and curriculum delivery
- Up-to-date Health & Safety knowledge relevant to construction environments
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- A recognised teaching qualification (DET, DTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent)
