Bolton Talent Solutions is building a talent pool of experienced Caretakers and Security staff for temporary agency work at Bolton College. These roles support the day-to-day running, safety, and presentation of a busy Further Education environment. We are looking for reliable, hands-on professionals with previous experience in education settings who can step in and make an immediate impact.
Overview of the Role
Setting: Further Education - Estates, Facilities & Site Security
As part of the Estates and Site team, you will help ensure the college remains a safe, secure, clean, and fully operational environment for learners, staff, and visitors. This is a practical and varied role, ideal for individuals who are proactive, safety-conscious, and take pride in maintaining high standards across busy sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Caretaking Duties
- Carry out general caretaking tasks including cleaning, minor repairs, and basic maintenance
- Prepare classrooms, workshops, and communal areas for daily use
- Support with room layouts and event setup
- Monitor and report maintenance issues promptly
- Security & Site Support
- Assist with site security, including patrols and access control
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and site rules are followed
- Respond to incidents and support emergency procedures where required
- Help maintain a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors

Essential Requirements
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (MANDATORY)
- Previous experience working within an education setting
- Experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site security roles
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Reliable, flexible, and professional approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience in FE, schools, or similar environments
- Basic maintenance or trade skills
- Knowledge of site security procedures
