Bolton Talent Solutions is delighted to be partnering with Bolton College to recruit an experienced HR Advisor (People & Culture) on a fixed‑term basis. Joining a small but passionate HR team, you will be instrumental in supporting managers with a broad range of people matters, particularly employee relations casework. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys building relationships, providing expert advice, and contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Working closely with managers and leaders across the College, you will provide practical, professional HR guidance to support departmental objectives while promoting a learner‑first and inclusive ethos.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a range of employee relations casework including:
    • Attendance management and trigger meetings
    • Disciplinary investigations and hearings
    • Performance and capability management
    • Grievance and other employee relations matters
  • Provide timely and pragmatic HR advice and guidance to managers.
  • Develop strong working relationships with managers and key stakeholders.
  • Support departments in achieving their objectives through effective people solutions.
  • Promote a positive, learner‑focused and inclusive culture.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider HR team to share knowledge and best practice.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities where required.
About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or People Advisor role.
  • Strong employee relations experience and confidence managing casework independently.
  • Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A personable approach with high levels of emotional intelligence.
  • The ability to work proactively and use your own initiative.
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
