Position Overview
Bolton Talent Solutions, in partnership with Bolton College, is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Dressmaking Tutor to deliver high‑quality teaching to Level 2 learners. You will deliver both practical and theoretical sessions across a variety of dressmaking and garment construction topics. This role is ideal for someone with strong industry sewing and pattern‑cutting skills, creativity, and a commitment to supporting learners as they develop technical competence and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons for Level 2 Dressmaking learners
- Teach core skills such as:
- Sewing machine operation and maintenance
- Garment construction techniques
- Pattern reading, adaptation, and drafting basics
- Fabric selection and handling
- Finishing techniques and garment fitting
Key Requirements
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, AET/PTLLS) or willingness to work towards one
- Level 3 or above qualification in Dressmaking, Fashion/Textiles, or a related discipline
- Strong technical dressmaking skills, including pattern work and garment construction
- Experience teaching or delivering skills workshops (FE, adult learning, community learning, or similar)
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
