About the Role
Bolton Talent Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and industry-experienced Catering & Patisserie Lecturer to join Bolton College on a temporary basis via our internal agency.
Starting in September 2026, this opportunity offers flexible, variable hours, making it ideal for candidates seeking adaptable working arrangements alongside ongoing assignments.
You will deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning across Catering, Hospitality, and Patisserie programmes, supporting learners to develop practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional behaviours that prepare them for employment or further study. This role combines practical and theory-based delivery, helping learners develop expertise in professional cookery, pastry, bakery, confectionery, and food service operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching across Catering, Hospitality, and Patisserie programmes
- Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
- Teach and assess professional cookery, pastry, bakery, dessert, and confectionery techniques
- Support learners to develop industry-standard skills and professional behaviours
- Maintain a safe, positive, and professional learning environment in both classroom and kitchen settings
- Demonstrate current industry practices and high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service
- Develop teaching and learning resources to support course delivery
- Track learner progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement, and departmental initiatives
- Support departmental targets relating to retention, achievement, and learner success
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, food hygiene, and safeguarding requirements
About You
Ideally, you will have:
- A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Catering, Professional Cookery, Patisserie, Hospitality, Bakery, or a related discipline
- Level 3 Advanced Food Hygiene qualification
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent)
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Recent industry experience within Catering, Hospitality, Patisserie, Bakery, or Professional Cookery environments
- Strong practical teaching, kitchen management, and classroom management skills
- Knowledge of current culinary trends, food preparation techniques, and industry standards
- Experience teaching or training learners in a professional or educational setting is desirable
- A flexible, proactive, and learner-focused approach
- An enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one
