Role; Travel and Tourism Lecturer
Location: Birmingham
Contract: Temporary on-going with termly performance reviews
Period: 1 September 2026 to 23 October 2026 (or until a permanent postholder commences)
Hours: 27.5 hours per week comprising:
- 19.5 hours teaching
- 8 hours preparation, marking and administration
Working Pattern:
- Tuesday: 9:00am - 4:30pm
- Wednesday: 9:00am - 4:30pm
- Thursday: 9:00am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 9:00am - 2:45pm
Pay Rates:
- £25-£27 per hour (teaching hours)
- £14 per hour (preparation/administration hours)
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Travel & Tourism to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching to learners on Travel & Tourism programmes, supporting students to achieve their qualifications and progress within the industry or into higher education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective Travel & Tourism lessons.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning materials and assessments.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement and learner performance.
- Support students to achieve their full potential in a positive learning environment.
- Undertake associated administration, preparation and quality assurance duties.
Essential Requirements
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- Relevant qualifications in Travel & Tourism or a closely related subject.
- Recent and relevant industry experience within the travel, tourism, hospitality, aviation or visitor economy sectors
- Experience of teaching, training or assessing learners in further education, colleges, adult education or workplace settings.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to engage and motivate learners with differing needs and abilities.
