We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Chef Lecturer to deliver high-quality catering and hospitality training to Further Education learners. This short-term assignment offers the opportunity to inspire the next generation of chefs while supporting students in developing practical kitchen skills, theoretical knowledge, portfolio evidence, and employability skills.

Teaching Schedule

Thursday

  • 08:00 - 12:00
  • 13:00 - 14:00

Friday

  • 08:00 - 12:00
  • 13:00 - 16:00

Additional Hours

  • 6.5 hours per week for administration, planning, marking, and learner support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging practical kitchen skills sessions.
  • Teach relevant catering and hospitality theory.
  • Support learners in building and completing portfolios.
  • Deliver Skills for Success and employability-related activities.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and food hygiene within practical learning environments.
  • Complete required administrative duties, including learner tracking and documentation.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant professional chef or catering qualification.
  • Industry experience within professional kitchens or hospitality environments.
  • Ability to teach and motivate Further Education learners.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Previous teaching, assessing, mentoring, or training experience.
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work within an educational setting).
  • Experience supporting learners with portfolio development and vocational qualifications.
