We are recruiting an experienced Estates Site Technician to join a busy and supportive Estates & Facilities team at a leading London college. This is an excellent opportunity for someone local, hands-on, and confident working in a school or college environment.

About the Role

As part of the Estates team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the campus remains safe, secure, clean, and fully operational for learners, staff, and visitors. This is a varied, practical role ideal for someone proactive, reliable, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day caretaking support across the college, ensuring all areas remain safe, tidy, and accessible.
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks including repairs to doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, walls, tiles, and fittings.
  • Support with room setups, events, examinations, and campus activities.
  • Assist with goods-in deliveries, loading/unloading vehicles, and distributing items across campus.
  • Conduct regular site checks, reporting issues and completing tasks via the Estates Helpdesk.
  • Support opening and closing of the site, including alarm setting.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces to a high standard.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, safeguarding, and compliance procedures.
  • Travel between local sites when required (college vehicle provided).

Desirable Additional Skills

  • Basic electrical repairs (e.g., replacing lights, switches).
  • Basic plumbing knowledge (e.g., fixing leaks, unblocking drains).

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in caretaking or site maintenance-ideally within a school or college.
  • Strong practical skills and the ability to carry out a range of maintenance tasks.
  • A team player with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Someone physically capable of lifting, carrying, and completing manual tasks.
  • A full UK driving licence (up to 3.5t).
  • Someone local, able to attend site quickly in emergencies or adverse weather.
