The Role

We are partnering with an ambitious, internationally focused higher education provider to appoint an Assistant or Associate Professor in Fin Tech Management.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing academic community and contribute to programmes spanning financial technology, finance, business and data analytics.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, support curriculum development and help deliver an engaging, inclusive and professionally relevant learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Develop and review modules, learning materials and assessments.
  • Provide clear, constructive and timely feedback.
  • Support student's academic progress and act as a personal tutor where required.
  • Supervise dissertations, projects or applied research.
  • Contribute to moderation, assessment boards and academic quality processes.
  • Keep teaching current and aligned with developments in Fin Tech and financial services.
  • Work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues.
  • Participate in programme meetings and wider institutional activity.
  • Contribute to student recruitment and outreach where appropriate.
  • Maintain subject knowledge through research, scholarship or professional practice.
  • Develop relationships with employers and external partners where relevant.

Person Specification

For appointment at Assistant Professor level, applicants should normally hold, or be close to completing, a relevant Ph D, or demonstrate equivalent professional expertise.

Candidates should have strong subject knowledge, the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and a firm commitment to student success.

For appointment at Associate Professor level, candidates should also demonstrate an established record of teaching excellence, academic leadership, curriculum development, research, scholarship, professional practice or knowledge exchange.

Essential requirements include

  • Specialist knowledge in Fin Tech, finance, investments, international finance, data analytics or a closely related field.
  • Experience of teaching, training or presenting complex subject matter.
  • The ability to design and deliver effective learning activities.
  • A strong commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting students from varied backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of current developments affecting Fin Tech and financial services.
  • Experience of UK higher education, teaching international students, supervising dissertations, blended learning, programme validation or academic quality assurance would be advantageous.

A recognised teaching qualification or Fellowship of Advance HE would also be welcomed.
