Protocol Education is working with a welcoming secondary school to recruit a Design & Technology Teacher to join an established and well-supported department from after Easter. This role would suit an experienced DT specialist or an Early Career Teacher ready to grow with the right guidance around them. You’ll be joining a department that values collaboration, shares ideas freely, and supports staff at every stage of their career. The role involves:
- Delivering engaging, well-planned DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop practical skills, creativity, problem-solving, and confidence.
- Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons aligned to the curriculum.
- Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to experiment and learn.
- Using a range of teaching strategies and technologies to maintain pace, challenge, and engagement.
- Differentiating effectively to meet the needs of all learners.
- Tracking progress and using assessment to inform next steps.
- Working collaboratively within the department to keep teaching creative and consistent.
- Promoting strong behaviour for learning and positive relationships in the classroom.
