Wellbeing & Learning Mentor

Wellbeing & Learning Mentor

Full-Time On-site
P

A welcoming primary school is seeking an exceptional Wellbeing & Learning Mentor to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a delightful Year 6 girl with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This role is not about managing difficult behaviour. Instead, it's about building confidence, developing trust and helping a young person overcome the challenges of anxiety and low self-esteem.

The pupil is bright, kind and eager to succeed but can sometimes doubt her own abilities. She needs a calm, patient and emotionally intelligent adult who will champion her strengths, celebrate her successes and help her navigate the emotional demands of her final year in primary school.

As she prepares for the transition to secondary school, you'll play a vital role in helping her develop the confidence, resilience and independence she needs to flourish.

The Role

As a Wellbeing & Learning Mentor, you will:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Build a strong, trusting and positive relationship.
  • Support emotional wellbeing and help reduce feelings of anxiety.
  • Encourage positive self-esteem and confidence.
  • Help the pupil engage fully in learning and school life.
  • Support social interactions and friendship building.
  • Act as a positive role model and trusted adult.
  • Work closely with school staff, parents and SEND professionals to provide the best possible support.
