Support SEN pupils in a mainstream classroom. Be part of a school that truly values support staff. We’re working with a welcoming mainstream school in Pontefract looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This role is all about supporting pupils with special educational needs within a mainstream setting, helping them feel confident, included, and ready to learn. You’ll be a steady, supportive presence in the classroom, working closely with teachers and the SENCO to help pupils thrive.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting SEN pupils either 1:1 or in small groups
  • Helping pupils access learning in a way that works for them
  • Using calm, patient, and encouraging strategies throughout the day
  • Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and engagement
  • Working as part of a caring, inclusive school team
