We’re working with a welcoming primary school in the S75 area of Barnsley that’s looking for a KS2 Teaching Assistant to deliver reading interventions while supporting pupils with SEND. You’ll be helping children build confidence, develop key literacy skills, and enjoy learning at their own pace. No two days are the same, but every day you’ll make a genuine difference.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering targeted reading intervention sessions across KS2
- Supporting pupils with SEND on a one-to-one and small group basis
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo
- Helping pupils stay engaged, confident, and ready to learn
- Creating a calm, positive learning environment where every child can thrive

- Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS2
- Knowledge of reading interventions or literacy support
- Experience supporting children with SEND
