The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

You will be working under the direction/guidance of the class teacher/SENCO/SEN Manager, to supervise and provide support for students with SEND to enable them to learn as effectively as possible on their own and in group situations, considering their specialist needs. You will support the students academically KS3-5 (language, reading, writing, spelling and mathematics) & encourage the concentration and social skills. You will be responsible for the delivery of any special programmes & monitor the students’ progress/report.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
  • Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure the holistic development of students.
  • Provide assistance with academic tasks, communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievements and challenges.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence in students with special needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a special education setting, is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has or is willing to obtain an enhanced DBS.
  • Is confident maintaining a possible work environment.
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable (not mandatory).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • The right to work in the UK.
