We are working with a school in South Gloucestershire who are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their support staff team to support a child who has an ASD diagnosis.
Specific Requirements
- Forming a positive relationship and responding to the child's individual needs as appropriate
- Supporting the child to integrate and participate in class activities
- Breaking down the task to make it accessible
- Liaising with outside agencies relating to specific programmes of support
- Keeping accurate records of achievements, progress or concerns
- Forming trusting professional relationships with parents/carers
- Working closely with the class teacher and job share partner, SENDCO and year group team
- Supporting the pupil alongside their peers at lunch time
About You
The school are looking for a confident, caring person who can demonstrate appropriate skills and recent school-based experience to join their hard-working and supportive school team. Experience of supporting children who have additional learning needs is desirable. The ability to work as part of a team under the direction of class teachers is essential; however, they are also looking for someone who is able to use their initiative to fully support the child's learning, work and behaviour through any programmes of support as indicated on the child's EHCP and Safety Plan. This will include ensuring that appropriate learning resources and materials are available and ready to use. The position will involve supporting the pupil at lunchtimes and for afternoon learning.
Pay Rate
Pay rate is dependent on experience.
